More of a shout out to anyone at MWC reading Twitter than to regular readers, here’s a short excerpt from an ARM press release today:

Wistron
Demonstration of two new products; a sleek 5 inch advanced Internet experience device and a new device called a P/Book with an 11.1 inch screen.  Both are powered with ARM processors based on the ARMv7 architecture and will be available in 2009.

ARM v7 is the latest architecture and used in the Cortex (and other licensed) CPUs. The full press release also includes information we’ve reported on before.

If you’re at MWC, get on over to the ARM stand and check out the Wistron MID ASAP. Don’t forget your camera!

if your going to make a netbook with a silly CPU like ARM & kiddy OS like Moblin, at least make it SMALL (7″-9″). what idiot thought of using these components in a full size ultraportable?

  3. Susan says:

ARM because browsing the web with several days of normal use and month long standby with a reasonable screen size sounds appealing….

  4. marco says:

Bulox is right.. these MIDs must be very small to be a viable alternative to fuul-sized netbooks, or else they are meaningless products, I’d rather stick to conventional netbooks..
