The wait for the Asus Transformer Book in America looks to be coming to an end soon with the 13.3″ version slated to be available within a week on May 21st, Liliputing reports via the official Asus North America Facebook page.
The Transformer Book has officially made its debut in Japan and has found its way into the hands of some users already but now it will be officially available in the US which should mean wider availability. Liliputing has found at least one US online retailer taking orders for the Core i7 version.
Quick reminder of the specs, the Transformer Book is packing a 13.3″ 1920×1080 full HD IPS display, 128GB SSD in the tablet with options for up to 500GB HDD in the backlit keyboard dock, 2x USB 3.o ports, Ethernet, microSD and full SD card slots, micro HDMI, mini Displayport, combo headset/mic jack, BT 4.0 and 802.11 b/g/n.
Official pricing was not revealed but the Core i7 version listed on MacMall is priced at $1,430.
Digitizer?
Not available in that model. As far as I’m aware the currently available core based convertibles/tablets with digitizer are …
– Surface Pro
– Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro (700T)
– Sony Vaio Duo 11
– Lenovo Helix (limited availability, probably because of Haswell)
– I believe Fijitsu has a model as well but haven’t seen it
Its a shame that Dell XPS 12 didn’t offer this as a option. The newly announced HP Split X2 doesn’t seem to offer digitizer either. Nor does Lenovo Yoga 11s.
I do love me some Lenovo Helix but wish they offered a more reasonably priced non-vPro model.
Do you mean because Haswell is coming soon, or because Helix has one? Because Helix has a 17W ULV Ivy Bridge.
the asus taichi has a digitizer as well
I’ll believe it when I see it!
