Recall the UX21A from Asus that we spotted on Intel’s slide in the touchscreen section? We got confirmation late last night that this was not a mistake, in fact Asus has it on display now at Computex. The Verge has a brief hands-on.

The Samsung Series 5 has always been a well-priced, well balanced Ultrabook and it’s soon to be available in an Ivy Bridge variant. Later in the year we’re going to see Windows 8 upgrades and, according to reports from the show floor at Computex, with a touchscreen.
Laptopmag have had hands-on and there’s a video below. We’re told that it booted from cold in 8 seconds! See below.
During Intel’s Computex keynote, we caught something on one of their slides that everyone else seemed to overlook — the UX21A is listed in the touchscreen section.
Jonney Shih is getting somewhat of a name for himself in tech PR circles. He comes across as honest, likable, passionate and funny and his presentation of the ASUS TaiChi was as good as any of his stage appearances. We wish we had been there! The presentation wasn’t without it’s problems, but that’s what we like about them.
It’s worth a look. We’ve added it to a playlist below where you’ll be able to watch a number of ASUS TaiChi videos from Computex today.
What do you think about the TaiChi? Is it workable? Expensive? A PR stunt?
TechinStyle, who I believe is an ASUS project, have an exclusive first look at the ASUS TaiChi.
The video is worth watching for details and a great demo of the screens, both HD and IPS.
USB3.0 x2, combo 3.5 audio jack, micro HDMI, mini display port connectors, and a host of table sensors. Note that the power, screen and rotation lock are also mirrored as keys on the keyboard.
Not only have ASUS gone and created another interesting design with the TaiChi, they’ve worked their magic on a a device called the ASUS Transformer Book. It’s an Ultrabook at heart but it has a detachable screen. Clearly a device for Q4 and WIndows 8 but, wow!
According to a first look post at TechinStyle, we’re looking at a Core i3/5/7 ‘notebook’ with Nvidia discreet graphics, 4GB of RAM, USB3.0, SSD and an HDD option. Surely this is an Ultrabook?
We’ve pulled together as much as we can find on the Acer Aspire S7, the touchscreen Windows 8 Ultrabook just presented for the first time at Computex.

The Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabooks have just been revealed in Taipei at one of the first press events. The 11.6 and 13.3″ Ultrabooks will offer premium features and long battery life. Reports coming out of Computex are saying 9hrs and 12hrs for the 11.6″ and 13.3″ versions respectively.
